The term clubfoot refers to a congenital foot deformity characterized by equinus of the hind foot and adduction of the midfoot and forefoot with varus through the subtalar joint complex . There is also a cavus deformity through the midfoot.it may be postural, idiopathic, neuropathic, syndromic.
Saad Zaheer is a cute boy of 5 years old who was born with (CTEV). At 4th month of birth, His parents noticed that there was some wrong with his feet and one of the field worker guided and they pushed to have a consult with Rehab centre at DHQ Bagh.He was diagnosed with (CTEV) and prescribed with a bilateral AFO and instructed with the proper use of appliance and exercise. His mother says, ‘’There are days that aren’t easy. Sometimes it’s a struggle to find the motivation or the strength to carry on a normal day.’’ Within a short time of three months usage of appliance and regular exercise result was astounding. Now he is in nursery class more confident in each step. With a more natural and efficient gait .Everyday Saad takes the long way to school, past the fields beyond the lakes. His hobby is to play cricket with his friends, that is a start of a wonderful supportive relationship with his friends. Now he is as active as his siblings.
